the expendables is an american action film that became famous even before the filming stage. a sylvester stallone film featuring an ensemble of the world's most popular action actors of the 1980s and 1990s; the key antagonist was portrayed by eric roberts. the film had its world premiere on august 3, 2010. the main characters of the film are a group of elite mercenaries who perform a variety of tasks-from rescuing hostages to overthrowing dictators. a certain temple hires them to eliminate general garza-the ruler of the small latin american island of vilena, located between the gulf of mexico and south america. arriving on the island for intelligence purposes, they realize that the target is not a general, but a former cia officer, james monroe, who directs the production of ***** on the island. barney decides to abandon the mission, but changes his mind because of the general's daughter, sandra. the mercenaries go to the island. at this time, monroe kills general garza and tries to escape, taking sandra hostage. the expendables destroy all of the general's soldiers and monroe's men, and monroe himself is simultaneously killed by barney — by shooting him, and christmas — by stabbing him. barney gives sandra the account number to which he transferred half of the money he received from the temple. at the end of the film, the whole group celebrates the victory in the salon at tula.
